How Much Does It Cost to Rent a Mobile Sauna? (2025 Pricing Guide)

This is the first question everyone asks, and the answer you'll find on most websites is frustratingly vague: "it depends." So here's what it actually costs, based on real pricing from vendors in our directory.

The Quick Answer

For a standard mobile sauna rental (barrel sauna or trailer sauna, 3-4 hour session), you're looking at $300-800 in most U.S. markets. That includes delivery, setup, heating, and takedown.

Add a cold plunge for the contrast therapy experience and you're at $500-1,500 for the full package.

What Affects the Price

Duration. A 3-hour rental costs less than a full-day or overnight. Most vendors price in blocks — 3 hours, half day, full day.

Distance. Vendors typically include delivery within a certain radius (usually 20-30 miles). Beyond that, expect a $50-150 delivery surcharge. If you're in Austin booking a vendor from San Antonio, that's extra mileage.

Sauna type. A basic barrel sauna on a trailer is the most affordable. Custom-built Finnish saunas, luxury setups with changing rooms and lounge areas, and wood-fired saunas with an attendant run higher.

Day of the week. Saturdays are peak demand. Book a weekday and some vendors offer 10-20% discounts.

Season. Summer and fall are busiest in most markets. Winter can be slower (and actually an amazing time for a sauna — hot in the cold air is incredible).

Price by City

Pricing varies by market. Here's what we're seeing:

Los Angeles / San Diego: $400-1,000. Premium market, lots of luxury options.

New York: $500-1,200. High demand, limited supply, logistics are complex.

Austin / Dallas: $300-700. Growing market with competitive pricing.

Denver: $350-800. Mountain town premium but solid vendor competition.

Seattle / Portland: $300-700. PNW is the heartland of mobile sauna culture. Lots of options.

Chicago: $350-800. Seasonal demand — huge in summer, quieter in winter.

Minneapolis: $300-600. Scandinavian heritage means strong sauna culture and reasonable prices.

How to Get the Best Price

Book early (2-4 weeks out), consider weekdays, and always get multiple quotes. The easiest way is to submit one request on BookAShvitz and let vendors come to you with their best pricing.

Also ask about what's included. Some vendors include towels, robes, water, and an attendant. Others are just the sauna and delivery. The $300 quote and the $600 quote might be for very different experiences.
